O miscare previzibila din partea Hearst Magazines, nu doar pe fondul actualei crize din state dar si trendului tot mai accentuat de consum online al adolescentilor.
Site-ul in schimb este foarte interactiv, pe langa articole si informatii are tot felul de aplicatii amuzante – de la dressing room virtual pana la teste si jocuri. Nu lipsesc comunitatea, sectiunea video si link-uri catre facebook, myspace si bineinteles o lume virtuala 3D – There.com – unde exista deja CosmoGirl Village.

Media romaneasca incotro?
mai 3, 2008 at 11:52 pm | In Management, online media | 4 CommentsCiteam deunazi la Krossfire un articol interesant Branduri moarte din media romaneasca si ma intrebam daca nu cumva “cauza” declinului suntem chiar noi, publicul ce am migrat catre internet?
Recunosc ca la televizor nu ma mai uit in mod activ de cativa ani buni. Nu-mi aduc aminte ultima oara cand m-am asezat in fata televizorului, la ora fixa, sa nu pierd emisiunea x sau filmul y (exceptie fac cateva transmisiuni sportive live). Informatiile mi le iau de pe net (stiri si bucati relevante din emisiuni), filmele le vad pe dvd fara reclame si la ora la care imi convine.
Culmea e ca, desi nu deschid tv-ul cu saptamanile, aflu cam tot ce se intampla “pe sticla”. Subiectele fierbinti se dezbat pe bloguri, fazele tari se vad pe youtube, stirile circula rapid si viral. Emisiunile tv romanesti sunt, in mare majoritate, inspaimantator de proaste, cu prea multe “vedete” inchipuite, circ si continut de prost gust. Blogosfera face misto de ele, in timp ce mitul jurnalistului/vedeta/om de televiziune se darama.
Practic, asistam la o inversare de roluri intre online si offline. Acum cativa ani, internetul era considerat un canal lipsit de credibilitate si profesionalism, cel mult o sursa de informatii neorganizate, amuzante etc. Astazi, pentru multi dintre noi, readerul a devenit principalul canal de stiri iar o mina de bloggeri talentati pot fi mai credibili decat multi jurnalisti mediatizati.
Asa cum Chris Anderson, red. sef de la Wired, spunea intr-un interviu recent, misiunea oamenilor de media este sa gaseasca oportunitatile comerciale in peisajul online amatorial si sa creeze productii de valoare pentru care publicul ar fi dispus sa plateasca (direct sau prin atentie, adica monetizarea audientei prin publicitate).
Cu alte cuvinte, in loc sa coboare tot mai mult stacheta in cautarea unui senzational indoielnic, media traditionala autohtona si-ar putea folosi resursele pentru a realiza continut de valoare pentru publicul de internet, adaptand formate si cooperand constructiv cu creatorii de continut. Daca si cum se va intampla asta, ramane de vazut…

Writers Strike Is Changing Media Habits
About 35% of Americans are changing their media consumption habits as a result of the Hollywood writers strike, according to a report by the consultancy firm Interpret. Some 27% are watching less network television. Many viewers are turning to video games and DVDs.
YouTube’s Rise Threatens Broadcasters
YouTube continues to hold the No. 1 spot in online video, says ratings firm comScore. “If you are CBS, the fact that people are watching a few hours of online video is of some concern,” says Forrester Research analyst Josh Bernoff. Some of these viewers “are never coming back.”
Media Consumption Increasingly Online
The U.S. online advertising market will reach $50.3 billion in revenue by 2011, according to a new report by the Yankee Group. By 2011, close to 25% of all media consumption will be online. New publisher business models will “help sell interactive advertising.”
Traditional Advertising Is ‘Less Effective’
A McKinsey report predicts that traditional television advertising will be “one-third as effective in 2010 as it was in 1990.” Also, not as many people are dialing 800 numbers and clicking on banner ads as they once did. Thanks to the Internet’s interactivity, one-way messages “no longer work.”

Samir Husni aka Mr. Magazine spune: “The industry has entered a dark tunnel. The only thing they can see is the train coming.”
Vor creste insa publicatiile regionale si revistele de nisa, cu un public foarte bine definit. Internetul va fi tot mai mult integrat in procesul de publishing, iar publicitatea tinde sa fie vanduta la pachet (print+web). Este cu siguranta un moment de re-pozitionare a intregii industrii, iar cei care deja au inceput sa se adapteze, vor avea de castigat.

Television, still the biggest way to reach customers, is projected to “essentially hold its ground.”
